Lyon is a city I like a lot, I got a bit obsessed with the architecture and the two rivers running through the city were a welcome sight - i've missing seeing water in the form of rivers and oceans>
I packed quite a lot in to my two day trip, I did the bus tour, a walking tour, river cruise and 4 museums as well as all my general walking and noseying about.
Picture time...
How about this for a chocolate shop window...they seemed to have a thing about fish shaped chocolate in Lyon, not sure why.
You can't see it very clearly, but you have to be pretty important to have your name 'CHARLES' carved into decorative stone in a cathedral
I really didn't expect to see these on the main street in Lyon
One of Lyon's famous Traboules - they are covered walkways between the houses.
a little courtyard in a Traboule
I can't remember what this building is, I just liked it
I love this picture, these bikes were everywhere
House boats on the river - what a setting for an unusual home
One of the many grand, important buildings
The famous Lyon Opera house
I got a bit obsessed with the coloured buildings
I thought this was quite cute wee doodle round a drain
I thought the outside was striking....
Lyon at night - the view from my hostel was quite impressive
The morning, daylight view
The roman ruins, right on top of the hill
Check this out for a sunday morning bakery window
this building has over 30 famous Lyonites portrayed on it
An old Barbarian Island that's now to to a Michelin starred restaurant, as you do
I was much more interested in the building of the fine arts museum than the art - completely wasted on me.
More of the fine arts museum - it used to be a royal convent
Check this out for a water fountain
